A couple of days ago, Matt and I headed out to Shellharbour to watch Snow White and the Huntsman. After not seeing each other for a few days, it felt so different to head out again. On a normal week, we would see each other almost everyday, mainly for studying purposes however, since we were both busy working for a few days it felt different making time especially to spend time with each other. No study or stress involved.

It felt so exciting and new again and here is what I wore for the night!

Lovisa bracelet, Bardot Black Skinny Jeans, A Squirrel Jumper (hahaha)
Steve Madden "Viciious" Pumps
Oh and here is Matt being cute as per usual!

He looks a little like a Russian Mafia.. So Butch with his Hello Pandas and all hahaha

One of the nicest place to stroll around in Sydney. It's probably more appropriate to call it Oldtown as it has a large number of vintage / vintage inspired things. It's consists of numerous small shops lining the main street. It's extremely artsy and has extremely random selections of things on offer.

Prior to purchasing my MacBook Air, My auntie, mum and I went to Newtown to look around and I couldn't wait to share with you my favourite shopping destination!
My Reflection!

I want those hot air balloons!
YOU MUST VISIT!

Mulberry Street
1950s Inspired dress by Mulberry Street
This place was pretty heavenly. It had one of the loveliest person working there who is the designer for Mulberry Street. Her stuff is inspired by vintage garments and there is a whole collection of well tailored dresses and apparently they can design your dream dress upon request! Some of the stuff is pretty costly however you are getting your money's worth.

I purchased two things from this shop and I'll post it later once I have a nice picture of it.

I've always had a thing for Milk Bars..

Street Art :P
p.s. I would have had more photos if I wasn't hyperventilating at every store I visited hahaha I'll show you my purchases later...

I would like to introduce to you the newest addition to my family... The one and only.. 13 inch MacBook Air!

Tale Thief

I have been an avid Mac user ever since 2008 and I hope to continue being one. I received MacBook as an early and late birthday present (for this year and last year) from my Parents. It was mainly because my mum wanted to purchase before the financial year ended. I am extremely excited about using it however; I am too sentimental of my old MacBook so right now I'm switching between the two. We have had such an amazing relationship (my old MacBook and I) that it's going to be hard to let go of it. However, I did promise my auntie I would reset it for her to use.

I thought I'd share with you my joy upon meeting my new baby hahaha

I'll post more interesting posts later.. but for now... I am heading off to renovate my room :)

I'd like to introduce to you one of the most important person in my entire existence! She has been my best friend since we were five years old. No, she's not really my sister.. she's a lot more than that. She is the person who could cheer me up indefinitely and who makes life worth living. We have lived apart most of our lives as she and I had moved back and forth from Indonesia to Australia missing each other within the space of a few months.

Although we have lived so far apart, we were always so close. Each time we met up, we were still so very similar in a lot of ways. We loved the same sort of music and movies. I really miss her as I haven't seen her for about two years!! I am so excited to catch up with her this September!!!!!!!

*[notice when I use a lot of exclamation marks.. I'm usually excited]

Anyways.. The point of this post was to tell her that she is an amazing person and I feel so blessed to have known her. I wish we could spend more time together but it makes every moment we have simply amazing. Happy Birthday Icha! (That's her name ~ It's actually Ryanica)

These are some old photos of us from my last visit to Indonesia :'(

Strange as it sounds.. we did not plan this and I chose the photos at random.. but I'm always the one on the left and she's the one on the right hahaha

Happy Birthday Sis.. Love you!!!

Which one is better?

From the shoot, I am just playing with the colour tones at the moment. Which one would you say was better? Right or Left? Sorry for the terrible resolution, I am still in the process of editing them.. :) look at it as a teaser!

No, I did not make babies.. but I did purchase these "babies" from ASOS a week ago and it finally came!!

I am so overjoyed! It brings tears into my eyes.. I love them to death. Personally, I'm not the pink kind of person, however, I saw these and I knew I had to have them. I am hoping to use them in a photoshoot of some sort :)

They are just delightful. I took ballet a couple of years ago.. it lasted about 3 months.. I was no good at it to be honest.. but I could just imagine my self en pointe.. or pretend to be wearing these!

YUCK LIGHTING

Well Packed! Sneak a Peak!

TA-DAA!! My "Pointe" hehehe
It's an ASOS brand believe it or not.. in my time of e-purchasing, I did not know ASOS had their own brand.. I thought they outsourced! but they continue to surprise me! (they're wedges btw) I had something against wedges for a while but I've decided.. they aren't so bad.. What to wear them with though...

I was trying to be all artistic and stuff so they are not representing their true colour. If you look at picture number 2, between the white tissue paper, you can see it's real colour and it's really beautiful and well made! True to size (I'm a UK6 apparently, AU38 - 7.5)

They were on sale for about $35 or so, not too expensive!

If you guys have been wondering where I am.. I have been very very very busy at work. Two days ago, I had a photoshoot for a competition that I posted on Facebook for Valentine's day. The couple that won are in a long distance relationship but they are so in sync you could hardly tell! However, you could clearly see they are very much in love!

As we are writing, I am uploading all the photos into my macbook. I am a little bit nervous but extremely excited! Photos will be posted up soon!

Oh and I must thank my lovely assistant and boyfriend for the physical and emotional support throughout the day! I couldn't have done it without you. Poor matt was holding reflectors and diffusers and getting thrown this way and that due to the very windy day! Stay tuned!

P.S. Head over to Indecisive and let  me know which one you like better.. I can't decide which colour tone I should go with..

Morning

This morning, my auntie and I went to a little patisserie in Bexley. It was a cute little one that had the crustiest meat pie with chunks of beef. Yes, here in Australia, we don't have fruits in our pies (well we do, but we also have ones with meat in them which I think is more common here). Remind you of something...? Sweeny Todd... hahha

Afternoon

We then went to Hurstville and had Lunch there. It was the juiciest dumplings we could get our hands on! One thing you should know about me.. I love dumplings and I love love love Chilli!

Night

At Newtown, we went to a lovely little Japanese Food Joint.. It was disappointing as it tasted more like Chinese food however we just grin and bare it.. No return I guess but it was worth the experience. I had the Salmon Teriyaki. I love Salmon! I wanted stray away from my usual Sashimi.. it was easy today because I noticed it wasn't too fresh. Phew!

Wanted to share with you how excited I am to finally be signed into blogger on my phone! I have been trying to connect it for a while now..

To be honest, I much rather use the one on my laptop, much easier and you know where your photos will go.. However, I guess this is pretty convenient! :) testing photo placements...

Right after exams finished, we went to the shops and bought some Macaroons! We then proceeded to going to Matt's work where I had a shot (literally) to use my trusty camera which has been M.I.A. for a while. There was no real subject but nature and it was such a lovely day, I got to experiment with the light and exposure. Enjoy!

I'm not usually one to take photos of nature.. but I do enjoy it at times :) My real passion is in portrait photography.. I hope to one day create my own fashion editorial!!

Oh, I almost forgot, I also took a few photos of my Orchids.. Such a beautiful day!

Monday 18 June 2012

It's finally over! Let the holiday begin! I am starting off my winter holiday doing magazine returns for the business and then cleaning the house.. I know it sounds really boring however, it is such a relieve compared to all the stress that I have gone through.

Today I had a full 10 hours sleep... The first of many I hope... perhaps my body will start releasing Growth Hormone again if I get enough sleep and I'll grow taller! I am actually really really short. Matt used to call me 'bite-size' when we first met.

I really hope that my exams went well because now I am playing the waiting game! Oh and great news, I will be starting my exercise routines so I will post up my list soon. I try not to plan for the whole week because I would probably be at work a lot of the time and can't keep to it, so instead, I make a list of all the "areas" I have to cover and do it at a most convenient time. It should be really good especially since I will now be going to the gym at my University.

I have watched two movies since my exams ended. I watched 'The Vow' last night and one of my favourite movie 'View from the Top.' The vow was such a sad yet beautiful movie. I can not believe it was based on a true story!

WARNING SPOILER ALERT!!

Where as the view from the top.. people who have watched it may not like it, but I just love the combination of travel, love, backstabbing and PARIS! I especially love watching Gwyneth Paltrow getting head bashed into a large loaf of bread!!!

I hope you all have a wonderful day.. I know that I will! :)

p.s. sorry for the bad photo lately.. I will do better, promise!

Friday 15 June 2012

Three exams down and one more to go.. I felt so worn down this afternoon that I just slothed in the couch. It's okay though because Sloths are cute.. I mean, look at them!

I got this photo from: Sloth of the Day, a great blog by someone that I believe is obsessed with them, it's pretty great to just look around and see what all the other sloths like me do all day! Imagine just relaxing all day and not having to worry about.. anything..

This morning, I woke up in such a rush when Matt rang me saying that he was on the way to pick me up. He live one hour away and the exam was in less than an hour. It was just a stressful morning but we got through it in the end.

One last big one coming up. I am so nervous about this one that is on Monday, that is, Control Mechanism. It's a physiological and anatomical subject covering the essential understanding of physiological regulation. I believe it had an 80% fail rate last year.. So please please please pray that I don't!

My course at the university is pretty structured. I am currently doing Bachelor of Exercise Science and Rehabilitation. It is a lot of fun, however, it is challenging and require a lot of hard work. I can not wait for Exercise Prescription next year. It would mostly be out in the fields, learning the right "moves" for different individuals. I don't hope to ever become a personal trainer, however today I believe I have found my calling!

We had a case study to answer during our Biomechanics Exam that required us to be creative and make up some exercises for elderly people using our biomechanical concepts and I figured, what would those ex-circus retirees be doing in their spare time if not tight-rope walking or shooting them selfs out of a giant canon ball during their spare time! It was such an enjoyable things to write about. I'm sure I'd get points for originality but I'm not too sure if I had enough content through it.

Back to my calling, If by any chance, A circus was to come by, I would love to direct their show, create a more biomechanically effective movements for them and minimise the risk of injury! However, the Circus community is practically dead here in Australia, so sadly, I would have to find some other, more realistic dream to reach.

All I know is, if by some miracle, I end up with a job that I wake up everyday to and get excited about, I would be the happiest person in the world. It doesn't matter if I don't become filthy rich, if I can support my self and my family and it makes me happy.. what else could I ask for?

p.s. Has anyone seen the live show of Cirque du Solei? It's pretty amazing, I remember my mother took my brother and I to see the show, we sat on the front ring and it was so wonderful, I wish they had animals though, that's half of the reason why I come to circuses, to see the animals, nonetheless.. they were very talented, perhaps I could work for them! hahaha

From Cirque du Solei ~ Quidam..
That's Biomechanics Right there.. and A lot of Muscles!!!

I did it! Look!

On my very first post I mentioned how I couldn't figure out how to put my header in the middle.. I have finally done the impossible! (For me anyway). I just wanted to share that with you all :) What's your highlight of the day??

Oh and A few photographs that I took while my friends and I went to breakfast, proceeded by the beach. Yes, I'm one of those annoying people that bring her camera everywhere, but don't fret! I only take good photos of people, not embarrassing ones.. however, I do have a little folder in my desktop marked "black mail photos" :P

You have been warned...

I've been cramming in some study these past few weeks and I found that I lose interest and concentration very quickly.. especially since I've was trying to figure out a Respiratory lecture for 7 hours straight!

Lately, my daily ritual consists of waking up, going to the library with Matt, studying our buns off, coming home, doing some more study and dozing off on the couch. I figured that it's really time to change my bad, unhealthy habit.

1. I studied in the kitchen, aside from having the food distractions, it's not so bad.
2. I have actually been eating small meals throughout the day for a week now, to keep my metabolism up and to keep me alert and to provide my over worked brain with the much needed glucose! Oh and it works out well in my weight loss plan.. ) Lost 1.5 Kg this week for sitting around all day!
3. Set your self the same play list preferably using several instrumental songs.. best for study! No sing-alongs!
4. Take regular break, 5-10 minute per hour is enough however, make sure you have a proper break at some point. Do some stretches!
5. Be productive on your break. With what little time I had yesterday, I did a 30 minute yoga session and had a nice hot shower. It was so refreshing and I was really productive after :)
6. Remember that the happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thought - Marcus Aurelies. Don't be depressed that you haven't seen your friends in weeks or that you are studying alone in a cold, deserted kitchen, Think about the result :)

Hope this helps with your study! :)

Wednesday 6 June 2012

For our 8 months anniversary, Matt gave me a stack of letters for everyday of the week. It was his ultimate anniversary week! with our 13 month coming just around the corner, I thought this post would be quite appropriate.

On each letter, he had written the activity of the day. He would pick me up or meet me somewhere and we would do stuff for the rest of the day. I recall that week, on a Tuesday, I woke up excited at the thought of ripping open the envelope.

After breakfast, it was revealed that the day's activity would be a photo day! If you have read my blog, I love photography. I am not saying I am any good at it, but I sure as hell am passionate. That morning, I got ready for what was to be one of the most memorable day I've ever had with Matt.

It was of course self photographed and it made the experience a million times more special as we both had to run back and forth to set off the timer and pose in under 10 seconds. Here is our little collection of photos:

I like a man with a camera :P

Sneak Photo!

This was one of the most challenging photo to take! I had to do the back and forth running because Matt was positioned high up and he looked good there :) It took 50 takes before we got it right and that was after about 10 falls and 15 misses! Not to mention.. it was the first time I climbed a tree!

Hope you liked them! It was such a wonderful experience and we have been talking about doing more self-photography, with crazy concepts! So, look out for those!! :)
